This article goes in detail about the source of geothermal energy and how it is scientifically a renewable energy source. It describes the nuclear radioactivity and isotopic decay that occurs in the earth’s core, this decay releases energy into the core along with heat energy, which works its way up to the crust. So the geothermal energy we refer to can actually be seen as natural radioactive energy and isotopic decay that is transferred to the crust from the earth’s core.
Brief Overview -

This short entry gives a brief overview of the earth’s core and the heat of the cores, and a general explanation of its convection currents and tectonic shifts and so forth. This relates generally to geothermal heat in that its gives specs and reference points from the core, and the type of heating that occurs in the core that gives rise to geothermal energy.
